The domestic turkey, or Meleagris Gallopavo, is one of the most popular poultry animals in the world. It is mostly associated with Thanksgiving in the United States and Canada.

This bird is known for being the highlight of Christmas feasts in most of the English countries after it was domesticated in England during the 16th century. Turkeys are commonly raised in poultry farms where they are fed with barley, canola, corn, soya, and wheat.
